Raindrop
therapy is a powerful yet gentle technique that integrates
the application of therapeutic-grade essential oils with Vita
Flex foot massage (similar to reflexology) and a specialized
back massage.
The name of this technique is derived from the fact that
when the oils are applied to the back (after having already
been applied to the feet), they are dispensed like drops of
rain from approximately four to six inches above the back.
The oils - which are used to increase circulation, reduce
inflammation, and enhance the structural and electrical alignment
of the body - include two blends (Valor and Aroma Seiz) and
7 single oils (Thyme, Oregano, Cypress, Wintergreen, Basil,
Peppermint and Marjoram). Following the back massage, heat
is applied to the back to enhance further absorption of the
oils and relaxation of muscles.
The entire process takes about an hour and the effects
of the oils may continue for up to 7 days. This therapy is
contraindicated for pregnant women, children under 6 years
of age, and those afflicted with epilepsy, uncontrolled high
blood pressure, allergies to any of the above- mentioned
oils, and skin sensitivities or skin conditions such as psoriasis
or eczema.
